Siblinghood is not limited to humans, let alone to exist within only the same species. Some may say a tree of life is a tree alive.

Sister Magnolia
by Grexxen (05.04.2026)
Once an autumn in ninety two, two buds entwined as sister-brother. One had been a human true, and a magnolia had been the other. Planted in the garden of life, nourished by the warmth of love each grew into a sapling rife, with roots below and dreams above.
The tree grew slowly but firm and steady
new branches sprouted towards the sky.
And while the kid turned teen already
their connection no one could deny.
The silent magnolia accompanied all bliss,
in games like hide-and-seek it took part.
Its foliage rustled during his first kiss,
and offered quiecy at the first broken heart.
The morning dew on bright pink petals,
greets the first light of the day.
A sight worth more than shiny metals
A memory invited forever to stay.
Then turning on a dime
ended their shared time.
He had to move away
and she had to stay behind.
The new home in Magnolia City
did not harbor a tree so pretty.
After years of distant longing
news were brought with pity.
The old house was no more
of sister Magnolia no word…
The tears of sorrow faded slow
but life kept going on as it is known.
One day came for him to show
his old home to the kids of his own.
And there he saw her standing,
tall, alive and proud as she can be.
Her beauty never stopped expanding;
my one, my sister Magnolia tree.
